Sam's anemia update: Due to numerous factors including Sam's premature birth and inadequate iron supplementation, it would be safe to assume Sam has been significantly anemic for her first year (according to the doctors). She is on iron supplements now and will need to be closely monitored. Working through the guilt hasn't been easy, but I am thankful that today Sam is healthy and happy. Today, I am also reminded that every day I have with her is a gift, and (as my mother would say) she belongs to God! I'm just the lucky one that gets to be her momma for awhile. Amen.
