Pretty Bird

I'm gonna keep a bloggin. Keep a bloggin about a little bit of everything in my life. That's what I'm gonna do.

Home Life

Currently in Sam's Town:
She is obsessed with bubbles and climbing! See that clubhouse in the back? See the tree it sits under? Count three branches up. She can climb up there like a wild cat in the time it takes me to run inside to grab the phone. She is part wild cat. I will not post pictures of her up in that tree. If I did, you would have an obligation to call social services, or as my niece says, social security, whichever you prefer. I wouldn't want to put you in that predicament.

Look at my necklace.

Not quit the same level of fashion ingenuity as Zoe, but she seems pleased with herself.
Zoe
Zoe got new knee pads this week to minimize risk on the scooter. And, by " new", I mean free at a garage sale.

We also purchased Javert to minimize risk. He watches out for any hoodlums driving too fast on our street.  Now all we need is a helmet. Call Social Security if you need.

Look at her scoot in her cowgirl boots! And, good job to you, Javert. Keep that flag high.
Zoe asked, "Mom can I please do the dishes?"
The answer is Yes! Yes, you can! For the rest of your life! And, when you are real big like Mommy, you can do them all day. Everyday. Forever. And, never stop!... "You still want to do the dishes Sweetie?"

Presley
I always feel like, Somebody's watching me.
Presley had her second therapeutic riding lesson this week. She LOVES it.

Warming up.
I'm so proud! Just look at that posture. I am so thankful for programs like this. One more reason I love this place!
Giving a shout out. Equine Tebowing!

Home Decorating...

Stenciling is really hard work! It all started when I decided I wanted wall paper in my dining room. After many hours of searching and finding the perfect wall paper, I remembered that I don't know how to wall paper and that I'm scared of wall papering. Kind of a problem. Then, I considered stenciling a "wall paper" look and decided that was the answer. It seemed so much safer. But, make no mistake, stenciling is not safe. I completely underestimated the health risks. It causes anxiety attacks and overwhelming feelings of frustration. It took 10 hours to complete approximately 70 sq ft. The silver lining is, whichever friend you have in this world that will help you with such an endeavor, you will be bonded with for life. Really bonded! Deidre, I owe you my wall.

Not fun. Sorry about the picture quality. Taken by phone.

That's a picture of friendship.
Almost done.

Pretty Bird
Not So Pretty Bird.

Pretty Bird

Not So Pretty Bird.
What a dilemma? What do you do about all those Not So Pretty Birds? As you can imagine, they gave me much anxiety. Not anymore! I decided to love them because I made them. I decided they all have a place on my wall. In fact, they are perfect for my wall. They were made for my wall.  I hereby claim, all birds are created equal whether or not they are "pretty". After all, that's what God does with his birds.

Get real

Yo Yo Yo. I've been in a blog fog. Actually, I've been busy. Gettin stuff done ya know. Moving around the country. 8th house in 8 years. No joke. But, now I believe I've found my home. I absolutely love Colorado, especially our little piece of it, here in Parker. I am home. I mean, I found my home on Earth. Heaven is my real home. I just had to say that to keep things real...and heaven is for real (read the book).  This blog is real. If you need evidence, look back to that post I had last year when I blogged about cooking hash (prison food). I kind of regret posting that one. Gross.

Okay, how did I do this before?...here I go...

Home Life...

My girls. They are something else. Let's give ya a debrief on the school year since it's almost complete and my last blog was at its start.

Sam Sam:

I don't know where to start. I love her dearly, but she is a wild child.

As I was thinking of a way to describe my dear beautiful child, the lyrics to this song kept popping into my head. You can insert Samantha for Maria and Joy for Problem,  then you can name that movie. If you can't name that movie, you have no business reading this blog. You should go rent some movies and stop being ignorant of the best movie ever. For real!

She'd out pester any pest
Drive a hornet from its nest
She could throw a whirling dervish out of whirl
She is gentle! She is wild!
She's a riddle! She's a child!
She's a headache! She's an angel!
She's a girl!

How do you solve a problem like Maria?
How do you catch a cloud and pin it down?
How do you find a word that means Maria?
A flibbertijibbet! A will-o'-the wisp! A clown!

Okay, lets get real again for a sec. As, I was blogging and looking through pics to find a few of Sam, fear hit me. Where is she? What is she doing? Is my flibbertjibbet caught up in the tree again? Is she safe? Did she sneak out of the house? Is she in the street? Is she using my mascara on the walls? Is she rubbing butter all over her legs again? Is she eating a raw bratwurst?  So, I took a pause to find her. The following picture will show you where I found her. For real!

No words. Just sing the song again. My house smells like chili powder and cumin as does my will o'-the-wisp.

My debrief of Sam goes like this. For the past 8 months, I have been keeping Sam alive. She may not be potty trained. She may be a bit slow in speech development. She may not know how to count. She may not know her alphabet. But, she is alive. She is alive and throwing whirlish dervish out of whirl. And, for that, I sincerely thank God everyday. Because, just keeping this clown angel safe is job enough. I love you Sam.

Zoe

My tender and delicate Zoe is wrapping up her kindergarten year.

Zoe turned 6 and had her first home birthday party with all her best school buddies. Still into everything zebra as you can tell from the table cloth. We had a Christmas/Zebra birthday theme. Whatever. Who cares? We rocked it.

Zoe loves cousin time. Lucy, you are gonna hurt your hip standing like that.
Zoe debrief:
Zoe has adjusted well to Colorado. She misses her friend Malia from California a lot, but has made lots of friends. She is busy keeping up with homework (yes, in kindergarten), running after Sam, music, ballet, and she talks alot of ice skating even though we've only done it twice. Maybe next year.

One more picture of my lovely Zoe, but mostly because I want you all to see my sister's earrings and pig tails. I found that holiday stress is so much easier to endure when my sister wears blinking Xmas earrings. And, holiday stress is a real thing.

Peanut

I am gonna find some pictures just to make you smile. She makes me smile everyday...and cry. Just kidding. No I'm not.

Before we get to all the smiles caused by Peanut, look at Kristie's earrings and hair again. If you aren't smiling, you aren't happy and you should get some help. This is a picture of me and my siblings. I love them. We are the most laid back group of siblings you could ever hang with. Just kidding. No I'm not. No, really, just kidding.
Okay on to Presley's smiles...
Wait, one more of Zoe's smiles. Zoe usually holds them in, so I had to sneak in this picture.
Okay here we go...
Presley giving Micah the giggles and a neck ache.

Who's the boss? This is a real underlying question in all the cousins' heads at family gatherings. Who's in charge? Who's the boss? Who's the alpha?
He's still smiling...kind of.
Dare ya not to smile Isabelle.
No one's smiling when you're in a double choke hold getting your forehead bit. She took down both cousin Alphas. Doesn't that make Presley Alpha now?
Why are you being so stingy with the smiles Lucy?

Ava's smiling, but by the look on Presley's face... better watch your forehead.

I think Presley makes God smile too!
Presley debrief:
Doing good. Learning. Reading. Counting. She asks for her cousins everyday! And, she is developing quit a sense of humor!

Home Decor...

This is ugly, but I just can't spend $100 on a garbage can. Not yet anyway.
Copper spray paint until I come to my senses and buy a stainless steal garbage can like the rest of my fellow Americans.
Home Cooking...
For New Years, make a cake and take a pretty picture of it.

Just kidding. Go buy one at Queen City Bakery in Sioux Falls. I hear the owners are lovely.
Home School...

Put your kids in Public School. Say your prayers. Then, think of a replacement for the home schooling section in your home schooling blog.  I'm gonna do that now. Maybe home crafting???? Confession real quick here: I want to be a crafter so I'm putting a craft room in my basement. A friend brought to my attention that there are holes all over that logic. Will a craft room make you a crafter like having a dark room will make you a photographer? I think so! Wait, I guess that didn't really work out with my home schooling room. My home schooling room sure didn't turn me into a home schooler. Just thinking out loud here.....mmmmmm..... I'm gonna give it a whirl anyway. Home Crafting to come in future blogs. If that doesn't work, I can build a work shop to blog about carpentry or wood working.

Home Woody...
We haven't seen Woody lately. Kids grow out of things. What can I say? I will miss him too.

Home Flash Back...
Spring is here!

Peace out!
